Governor Ron DeSantis Appoints Three to the Lower Florida Keys Hospital District

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.— Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Peter Batty Sr., and the reappointment of Erica Sterling and Kathryn Ovide to the Lower Florida Keys Hospital District.

Peter Batty Sr. Batty Sr. is the President of SBX Commercial Real Estate, LLC and Director of Community Relations for the City of Key West Housing Authority.

He was elected to the Utility Board of Key West.

Batty is a member of the Key West Association of Realtors and the Key West Rotary Club.

Batty earned his bachelor’s degree in speech and English from Eastern Michigan University, and his bachelor’s degree in pastoral ministries from St. Thomas University.

Kathryn OvideOvide formerly held positions as the Director of Customer Service and Director of the Executive Department and Human Resources at the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority.

She was a founding member of the Lower Keys Heart Council, former Monroe Republican Party Committee Woman, and the Marina Manager at Sunset Marina.

Ovide attended the College of the Florida Keys.

Erica SterlingSterling is a Partner at Spottswood, Spottswood, Spottswood, & Sterling, PLLC. She serves as a Board Member of the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority, Key West Chamber of Commerce, Monroe County Bar Association, and Key West Yacht Club.

Sterling earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting, master’s degree in accounting, and juris doctor from the University of Florida.
