TECHnista, an education consulting company that develops K-12 curriculum for the defense and advanced manufacturing industries, announced a $15.1 million investment in Danville, Virginia, Governor Abigail Spanberger said. The company plans to lease a 30,000 square-foot facility at the Cyber Park Shell Building and create at least 22 new jobs.
The expansion follows TECHnista's 2024 award of a five-year federal contract to implement the Manufacturing and Engineering Education Reimagined for All (MEERA) pilot program. MEERA currently operates in seven states and one U.S. territory and is projected to enroll more than 18,000 students for the 2026–2027 school year.
Through its programs, TECHnista introduces students to manufacturing technologies and careers through middle and high school programs. The company also operates Build Freedom Centers that provide educator training and industry engagement in participating states.
Governor Spanberger approved a $75,000 state grant from the Commonwealth's Opportunity Fund to support the project.
