Data Machines, a veteran-founded firm offering data-driven solutions to government and civilian clients, will expand its operations in Reston, creating 75 new jobs in Virginia, Governor Abigail Spanberger announced.

Through an $849,000 investment, the company plans to establish a dedicated innovation and engineering office and expand its existing headquarters footprint to support national missions, according to the governor's office.

Data Machines, founded in 2016, specializes in artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, data analytics, cyber defense, software engineering, and modeling and simulation services.

The expansion comes as Virginia recently ranked third in CNBC's "America's Top States for Business" rankings. Since taking office, Governor Spanberger has announced more than $5 billion in new business investment and more than 3,200 new jobs across the state, according to her office.

Data Machines CEO Matt Quinn said Northern Virginia's combination of technology talent and proximity to government missions made it an ideal location. "More than doubling our headquarters footprint gives us room to grow our team, collaborate more closely, and take on increasingly complex challenges for our government partners," Quinn said.
